Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the independence leader of Bangladesh was taken prisoner by the Pakistani occupation forces from his Dhaka residence at the midnight of March 25, 1971

An historic picture! Soon after the release from the Pakistani prison, the founding father of the newly born Bangladesh, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman arrived in London on his way to the newly emerged independent Bangladesh. In London the then British Prime Minister Edward Heath received Bangabandhu in 10 Downing Street when he accorded Bangabandhu the honour of a visiting head of sate.

I Think its a rare picture.

Mujib declared 23rd March as a holiday. At his residence in Dhanmondi, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman raised the Bangladesh flag, to the cheers of the crowd gathered on the road outside his gate. It was the Bangladesh flag that was displayed on his car as it wound its way through the streets and into the President’s House for a fresh round of negotiations with President Yahya Khan.
